# MaiGuard ID

MaiGuard ID (https://id.maiguard.com) is a reusable digital identity platform for people and businesses. It gives each holder a secure identity profile for verified claims and documents, consented sign-in, revocable data sharing, and auditable connections. It is available on the web, iOS, and Android.

MaiGuard ID is part of MaiGuard, the trust infrastructure built by MaiGuard Sentinel Limited. It supports both personal identity and business identity; it is not only a business KYB vault.

- Businesses that need a reusable organisational identity containing company claims, documents, directors, beneficial owners, administrators, and team access.
- Developers and relying parties that want to add “Continue with MaiGuard ID” through OpenID Connect and OAuth 2.0.
- External reviewers, partners, auditors, and regulators who receive protected evidence through a Secure Share without creating a MaiGuard account.

## Identity model

A MaiGuard ID account can hold a personal profile and one or more business profiles. A business profile is a graph of the organisation and its people, including directors, beneficial owners, administrators, and members. Applications declare whether they accept personal profiles, business profiles, or both.

Claims and documents distinguish between data that is present, self-asserted, pending, and verified. Merely adding data does not increase Identity Trust. Verified evidence and completed security protections do.

## Consent and connections

An OAuth application declares the identity fields and documents it needs. The holder chooses an eligible profile, reviews the requested permissions, and continues only when the selected profile contains the required data. A successful OAuth interaction creates a visible connection. The holder can inspect and revoke that connection from MaiGuard ID.

The external application is the relying party (RP). It receives only the approved data through its registered OAuth integration. Optional server-to-server resolution uses an API key tied to that exact application.

## Secure Shares

Secure Shares are for sending selected identity evidence to a recipient who may not use MaiGuard ID. The sender controls the evidence snapshot, expiry, access key, access count, and download permission. The public review page identifies the issuer, displays verification state, and records access events. Secure Share URLs and their contents must not be indexed.
